The City of Ottawa has posted several articles on social media, about conserving energy and water. One of those is from the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities and involves your shower. The average family uses 40 gallons of water everyday just showering, over a trillion gallons a year across the U. S.. That is enough to supply the water needs of New York and New Jersey for a year.

Just by replacing your showerhead with one with a “water sense” label on it, can save nearly 3,000 gallons of water a year, plus enough energy from the water heater to power your house for 11 days. The new shower heads spray just as hard as the old ones, but use 20% less water. There is also a link to another video with other shower tips and tricks to save water and money. There is another on how to be energy efficient, information on weatherization programs and how to protect yourself from the harmful effects of the sun!
