If the price of gas is getting you down, and you have to fill your tank this week, there is a silver lining. Kansas has seen the largest drop in average gas price of any state in the Union. According to AAA, the average gas price dropped 29 cents in the last week. Lessened consumer demand and declining crude oil prices have contributed to the lower prices. AAA also noted that domestic gasoline stocks are up signaling that low demand led to growth in inventory this past week.

The average price for a gallon of gas in Kansas is $4.05 as of Monday, July 25. Lawrence was at $3.92. As of this morning in Ottawa, the cost for a gallon of gas ranges from $3.79 to $3.85 a gallon.

Man, I hope the downward price trend continues. I would sure like to be able to fill my tank for less than $20 bucks again.
