An Eagle Scout Project, recently in Louisburg, highlighted conservation on the planet. Sixteen year old Mark Miegs, a junior at Louisburg High took on a six month project this past year. He decided to do a conservation project, meaning the project had to consider the conservation of the planet and keeping it clean for coming generations. After collecting over a thousand pounds of plastic, it was used to create a composite bench made from the recycled materials. He worked with Trex Recycling, known for creating outdoor furniture from plastics.
Recycle bins were placed in various locations and the community responded. The bench was donated to the Louisburg Senior Center and placed outside for all to enjoy.
Congratulations Mark.
