In this day and age, it is becoming more and more important to be connected… Connected to high speed internet. However, millions of rural residents are being left behind in the internet age. Lawmakers are working to change that. Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsak, announced last Thursday that through the USDA’s Reconnect Program, help is on the way to underserved communities:
The initial projects don’t include Kansas; however, there will be many more projects next year included in the infrastructure bill and the new farm bill. Many of those include getting rural Kansans connected to high speed, affordable internet.
