The Kansas Primary Election is today and in Anderson County, they have seen a steady flow of early voters and a good return of mail ballots the past couple weeks. The polls are open today at all locations in the County and will remain open until 7:00 tonight. Anderson County Clerk, Julie Wettstien, says they are expecting a large turnout in response to the “Value Them Both” Amendment question that will determine the course of action in the State regarding abortion.
Interestingly, the vote won’t be finalized in Anderson County until the Canvass of Ballots. That won’t take place until August 15th at the Anderson County Commission Meeting. On the Ballot today, Kincaid resident Arlynn Briggs, who is running for Governor on the Republican ticket against current Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt.
