The school year is getting ready to start and that means it is nearly time for the Ottawa High School Wall of Honor Ceremony. This year’s Nominees are Sandi Staneart from the Class of 1959. She attended Research Hospital, the Medical Center School for Nursing and the KU School of Medicine, as well as WSU School of Medicine. Staneart is well known in Ottawa as being the School Nurse for many years.
Wanda Shumway-Temm, from the class of 1972. She attended Ottawa University. Received her Masters from Purdue University, then obtained her Law Degree from the University of Kansas in 1988.
Greg Unruh, class of 1973. After completing his Bachelors at Southwestern College, he attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine, graduating in 1981, then completed his Residency in Anesthesiology in 1985.
The Wall of Honor Banquet and Ceremony will be held Thursday, September 29th and the three will be recognized at halftime of the OHS Football game the following day.
