About a year and a half ago, a law requiring hospitals to post their real prices online, went into effect. However, a huge majority of hospitals across the Nation continue to not have their prices shown online. A report by “patientcareadvocate.org” shows 92% of hospitals in Kansas are still not showing that information on line. You’ll be glad to hear that Advent Health Ottawa is one of only four hospitals in the entire State that are fully compliant with the rule and have posted commendable files. The other three are Advent Health Shawnee Mission, Allen County Regional Hospital and Ness County Hospital.
Those who are not complying could face fines if the law is fully enforced. “Patientrightsadvocate.org” says they have contacted the hospitals not in compliance and most say they are working hard to do so. The two hospitals that have been fined for noncompliance are now fully compliant with the law.
