The Ottawa Library is welcoming a local author to the library for an author visit. Kale Link, a 2022 graduate of West Franklin High School, will be visiting to share his new book. Kale is heading off to Fort Hays State University to study Paleontology, but wanted to share his journey in writing the book.

The book is entitled “A Prehistoric Odyssey: Gone to the Great Dying”. It tells the story of Owen, a teen who is transported back in time, with his classmates, to the prehistoric era . They are mysteriously transported 252 million years into the prehistoric past and a harsh reality set in. In the Permian desert, they have to deal with dehydration, apex predators and an impending mass extinction, the largest the world has ever seen. Will they be able to come together and survive? Even if they do, will they ever be able to find a way home? Only time will tell.

Kale says he has been working on the book since he was in seventh grade. During free-time in Health Class, his teacher Mr. Butler, let him write. He says as the years went by, he kept writing and his Gifted Teacher, Mrs. DeWeese, encouraged him to finish it and publish it.

He will be at the Ottawa Library this afternoon at 2:00. Stop by and see him!
