School is starting in most locations and that means law enforcement will be watching for speeders, especially in School Zones. Franklin County Sheriff, Jeff Richards, has a reminder. He says there will be far more people on the streets than normal:

In some cases, fines for speeding in school zones can be much higher than in other locations. Richards encourages all drivers to be extra cautious, all the time, but especially around school. Slow down, buckle up and put your phone out of reach so you can be as attentive as possible.

School starts today in Ottawa, Wellsville an Central Heights. Wednesday in West Franklin, Garnett, Osawatomie, Paola, Louisburg, Baldwin and Spring Hill ,then Thursday for Santa Fe Trail.
