The first week of school in USD 290 is well underway and at Ottawa High School, that first week, along with getting students ready for academics, is full of other activities. OHS Principal Kelly Whitaker talks about a “Commitment to Graduate”:
The incoming freshman signed a large poster that will be hung in the Cyclone Room, and this year the senior recommitted their promise to themselves to graduate by signing a graduation gown. The Renaissance Crew plans to display the gown in the Cyclone Room and again at graduation. The Renaissance Program is sponsored by OHS teacher, Jennifer Kane, who has been teaching English for 14 years.
