The Federal Environmental Protection Agency is getting serious about getting lead out of drinking water and as part of that effort, the City of Ottawa, along with other cities all over the country, must start doing a survey of possible lead in water pipes. Snethen says the city will put out door hangers, among other efforts, to ask customers about any lead in their water.
