Governor Laura Kelly and Transportation Secretary, Julie Lorenz recently announced 11 expansion and modernization highway projects– a total investment of more that $520 million — have been committed to construction as part of the Kelly Administration’s Bipartisan Transportation Plan, IKR. Among those projects is a section of K-33 Highway i Franklin County, running from Shawnee Road to Pendleton Avenue. They would reconstruct the highway, replace the I-35 bridge and improve the interchange.

Another project would be the expansion of K-69 Highway in Miami County. It would construct a four lane expressway from U. S. 169 east about seven miles to just west of U. S. 69 Highway at Louisburg. This has been talked about by Miami County commissioners as a necessary project. Kelly says all the projects will expand and modernize our highways and improve road safety, create good jobs and deliver more economic opportunities across the State.
