The new owners of a once popular railway, have big plans to re-invigorate tourism in our area and some of those events have already started. Ryan Robinson purchased Midland Railway in May and recently joined the Franklin County Development Council. Franklin County Development Council Director, Paul Bean:
Robinson says it’s his goal to get the tourist trains running in October in time for Baldwin City’s Annual Maple Leaf Festival and the Halloween season. He plans to use the 50 acres of land Midland owns at Norwood, about five miles south of Baldwin City, to enhance the excursion ride experience. The coal car operation near Ottawa will continue.
