As the school year starts, USD 365 is welcoming a new principal to the Greeley and Westphalia Elementary Schools. Angie Linn says she is excited to become a part of schools that are so integral to the fabric of USD 365’s rural communities. She says rural schools enjoy an advantage because parental involvement is generally high and the town has a great deal of buy-in regarding the school and its activities.

She started her career in Iola and spent her first 15 years teaching first grade. She became the district’s Curriculum Director in 2012 and spent eight years in that post. She became a Building Administrator for the district’s preschool and kindergarten in 2015. When the district combined its elementary grades into a single new facility that opened this year, Linn was offered a post at Iola High School, but knew her heart was in the elementary grades. She says when this position opened, it just felt right. For now she says her mission is to get to know the teachers, students and parents at Westphalia and Greeley and keep everyone excited about education.
