Yesterday morning, August 29th around 7:30, a technician at Osawatomie State Hospital, drove away with a patient at the hospital, initiating a call to the Osawatomie Police about a missing person. Twenty year old Jamey Anderson drove from the hospital with patient 18 year old Salvador Reyes who due to past criminal record, is considered dangerous. Authorities immediately called in resources from various departments to assist in finding the two. The couple ran out of gas at 295th and Osawatomie Road and continued on foot, north on Osawatomie Road. Osawatomie Police Chief, David Stuteville, credited the number of officers, especially canine units:

Stuteville also says they were helped by tips from the public to narrow the search area to the south side of Hillsdale State Lake. Reyes was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated escape, aggravated escape from custody and interference with law enforcement. Anderson was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated escape, aiding escape, unlawful sexual relations and obstructing apprehension of prosecution.
