The result of the Roots Festival Barbeque competition have been announced. The Overall Grand champion was “Fergolicious BBQ” out of Gardner. Taking the Reserve Champion was another Gardner group… “High Q.” “Show Me Mo Smoke” won the chicken category; “Damn Fine Beef and Swine” took the pork ribs category; “High Q “won the pork; Fergolicious won the brisket and “Bull Creek BBQ” won the sausage category. There was not an alligator category in the competition, but that didn’t stop one group…”Happy Grillmore” from raising some eyebrows and grilling up some gator and sharing it with those who were curious about it. They were one of more than 60 teams to compete at this years’ contest.
