It’s a busy time for farmers in Kansas, with harvest underway and hay season in full swing. This is National Farm Safety and Health Week and the Kansas Highway Patrol would like to remind motorists to use caution and patience when traveling around farm trucks, tractors, combines and other implements. Since we live in an agriculture community, it’s important to know some safety tips when out on the road as we rush to get to our destinations, farmers will always have a highly reflective “slow moving vehicle” emblem. The Kansas Highway Patrol urges drivers to be patient and not get in a hurry to pass a farm vehicle and when you do, make sure there are not any intersections or railroad crossings in sight.
