The Ol’ Marais River Run Car Show and Cruise Night was held this past weekend– an awesome event. Have you ever wondered who started the show 56years ago? It was no other than a local automotive legend, Roger Ward and a few friends who were into restoring classic cars. They went to some little shows around the area and then decided Ottawa needed a show. That first show brought 150 cars to Forest Park. It’s grown to nearly 2,000 since then. He says having a car is all about the ‘cool factor’:
He adds that the Forest Park is the perfect place to have a show and he looks forward to the day when 3,000 cars are in the show. So far the record number was on the 25th year when just over 2,400 cars were registered. This year the number was 1,495.
