One more thing to do in the area today, Saturday, September 24, Quenemo will be celebrating the town’s riverbank heritage with the Marais Des Cygnes River Valley Festival. The day full of fun and entertainment features historical re-enactors, live music, vendors, parade, dancers and touch-a-truck. Quenemo historical items will be on display at the Community Center, presented by Curator, Mike Ragan.
Vendors and food trucks will set up starting at 9:00 this morning, Saturday, September 24. A parade will be held at 2:00 this afternoon. If you would like to be part of it, you need to be there by 1:00. A Quenemo Alumni Gathering will take place from 2:00 to 5:00, with activities all afternoon. Top it off with some great entertainment with the Dan Rukes Band at 3:30, followed by the Wakarusa River Band at 5:00, then end the evening with the Buck Creek Band.
