THE OTTAWA CITY COMMISSION APPROVED A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH IN OCTOBER. THERE WERE 20 THOUSAND CALLS TO CRISIS HOTLINE IN KANSAS LAST YEAR. ONE INCIDENT OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE EVERY 23 MINUTES AND ONE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE MURDER EVERY 11 DAYS IN THE STATE LAST YEAR. IN OTTAWA, THERE WERE 41 REPORTED INCIDENTS AND 27 ARRESTS.
