OVER 50 SMALL AIRCRAFT DESCENDED ON THE OTTAWA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT YESTERDAY, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6TH, DURING WHAT IS CALLED “FLY KANSAS AIR TOUR” OF NINE CITIES ACROSS THE STATE. ONE OF THE PILOTS WAS DARRYL LINNENBERGER, WHO FLIES A 1945 AERONCA CHAMP. KOFO’S MILTON AMMEL SPOKE WITH LINNENBERGER, AND HE SAYS, BACK THEN, AIRCRAFT WERE A LOT SIMPLER.
LINNENBERGER SAYS THE WINGS ARE MADE OF FABRIC WHICH IS SPECIALLY TREATED TO MAKE IT STRONG ENOUGH FOR FLIGHT.
