AN INJURY ACCIDENT ON I-35 YESTERDAY MORNING INJURED TWO PEOPLE. JUST AFTER 7:00 THAT MORNING, A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY 75-YEAR-OLD CLIFFORD BANKS, OF OTTAWA WAS STOPPED IN THE NORTHBOUND LANES AT MILE MARKER 187, JUST NORTH OF THE K-68 AND I-35 JUNCTION. A CAR DIRVEN BY 25-YEAR-OLD TARA MILLER, OF OLATHE DID NOT SEE BANKS’ VEHICLE STOPPED IN THE ROADWAY AND STRUCK HIM FROM BEHIND. HIS VEHICLE TRAVELED THROUGH THE MEDIAN AND CAME TO REST IN THE SOUTHBOUND LANES OF THE HIGHWAY.

BANKS WAS TAKEN TO ADVENT HEALTH OTTAWA FOR TREATMENT OF INJURIES HE SUSTAINED IN THE CRASH. MILLER RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES AND WAS DRIVEN TO THE HOSPITAL IN PRIVATE VEHICLE.
