LAST WEEK THE OTTAWA CITY COMMISSION DECIDED THAT OTTAWA’s FIRST SPLASH PAD WOULD BE BUILT IN CITY PARK. NOW, THEY HAVE TO DECIDE WHAT TYPE OF PAD THEY WANT TO BUILD…ONE THAT RECIRCULATES THE WATER OR ALLOWS IT TO SIMPLY PASS THROUGH. THERE ARE PROS AND CONS TO BOTH SYSTEMS. UTILITIES DIRECTOR DENNIS THARP SAYS HE SEES’ ONE MAJOR DRAWBACK TO A RECIRCULATING SYSTEM, KEEPING THE CHLORINE RESIDUALS UP:
