SATURDAY, THE CITY OF OSAWATOMIE WILL HOST A NUMBER OF STATEWIDE VISITORS TO CELEBRATE RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE FLINT HILLS TRAIL STATE PARK, WHICH BEGINS AT OSAWATOMIE’S “MILE ZERO” TRAILHEAD. THE EVENT STARTS AT 10 :00 THAT MORNING AS OSAWATOMIE CITY STAFF WELCOME INVITED AND HONORED GUESTS FOR A PRIVATE BREAKFAST AND PRESENTATION ON OSAWATOMIE’S SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES, INCLUDING AN AWARDS CEREMONY RECOGNIZING THE WINNERS OF A POSTER DESIGNING CONTEST HELD WITHIN OSAWATOMIE MIDDLE SCHOOL. THEN, THE FIRST PUBLIC COMMUNITY FORUM FOR THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION PROJECT CALLED OSAWATOMIE “CHARGING FORWARD”.
