Here we go again. Just when you thought it was safe to take off your mask, another warning from the Center for Disease Control, this time concerning the flu. Flu is expected to make a big return to the United States this year. The CDC says the past two years, it has been nearly non existent as the masks many were asked to wear, kept COVID and the flu away. They say that the importance of getting your annual flu shot is more critical this year than in the past several years.
Flu cases have been climbing around the world recently and officials expect an early return here. Two years ago, flu was the lowest on record, likely because of covid-19 measures — school closures, distancing, masks and canceled travel. Franklin County held several drive through clinics in October and County Health Officials stress that people need to make an appointment with them, or their doctor, or a local pharmacy to get their shot as quickly as possible.
