THIRD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE SHARICE DAVIDS WAS IN OTTAWA ON SATURDAY. DAVIDS WAS AT THE DEMOCRATIC HEADQUARTERS IN DOWNTOWN OTTAWA VISITING PEOPLE AND THEN AT OTTAWA UNIVERSITY TO SPEAK WITH STUDENTS AND STAFF BEFORE THE HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME.

IN HER “MOVING FORWARD TOUR”, DAVIS IS TRAVELING ACROSS THE THIRD DISTRICT, HIGHLIGHTING HER WORK TO LOWER COSTS FOR KANSANS. AT THE DEMOCRATIC HEADQUARTERS IN OTTAWA, SHE RALLIED VOLUNTEERS FOR HER CAMPAIGN AND TOUTED HER STRONG BIPARTISAN RECORD THAT SHE SAYS INCLUDES HELPING GETTING MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS ON U.S. 69 FUNDED AND ATTRACTING MAJOR INVESTMENTS LIKE PANASONIC TO THE AREA.

BEFORE COMING TO OTTAWA , DAVIDS WAS IN OSAWATOMIE AND TOOK PART IN AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF A $24 MILLION FEDERAL GRANT TO MAKE INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS ON 40 MILES OF THE FLINT HILLS TRAIL AND OPEN 27 NEW MILES ON THE TRAIL FROM COUNCIL GROVE TO HERINGTON. LATER IN THE DAY, SHE MADE HER WAY TO ANDERSON COUNTY, SPEAKING WITH SUPPORTERS AT THE NEWLY OPENED TROYER’S 1863 RESTAURANT IN GARNETT.
