Two businesses in the Ottawa Downtown are closing. Last week, Mary Raley, who owns Maggie’s Popcorn and Nuts announced the store would be closing for good, after six years. She says they have loved being part of the community and love their customers. They plan to be open until December 31st, allowing people to use any gift cards, coupons, half price tin refills and to accommodate holiday gift needs.
Then, over the weekend, Luigis announced they were closing, effective immediately. They say they have done everything they could to overcome the pandemic, and now the high inflation, rising food costs, supply chain issues and limited product availability. They say they appreciate all the loyal customers and business partnerships and are still hoping for a transfer-business-ownership before the end of the year. They were open in Downtown Ottawa for 10 years.
