Anderson County, after map realignment, is now included in the 3rd Congressional District, and there are three candidates vying for the position. Republican Amanda Adkins, Democrat Sharice Davids, and Libertarian Steve Howe. All have visited the county and are impressed by the people and their vision on how to fix the country’s and the state’s issues. Those issues include high inflation, the cost of gas and prescription drugs, taxes and the situation at the southern border. Adkins says one of her priorities is the southern border and how to stop the flow of illegal drugs to this area.
Davids says the cost of prescription drugs and how to better serve the farmers and ranchers are her priority, and Howe says his focus is towards lowering the national debt, which is one of the causes of inflation, and reducing federal spending.
Election day is tomorrow. The polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm. Vote!
