An injury accident in Miami County sent two people to the hospital. Just before 3:00 yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, November 8th, emergency personnel were sent to an injury accident on 223rd Street, west of Columbia Road. Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was westbound on 223rd Street, went off the roadway to the right, entered the ditch, struck a property entrance, causing the vehicle to go airborne and struck a large tree before coming to rest.
Names were not released, however, the occupants, a male juvenile driver and a female juvenile passenger were transported to separate local area hospitals. The male juvenile was released from the hospital. The female juvenile sustained serious injuries and remains in the hospital.
Two hundred twenty third Street, between Columbia and Cedar Niles Road were closed for an extended period of time while the accident was under investigation.
