In case you haven’t heard, a cornerstone business of the Garnett Community got a new name recently. But…the main face behind the business will still be around for quite a while to help with the transition. Victory Auto Group KC has purchased Beckman Motors. The deal has been in the works for several months. Under the deal Ray Beckman will remain with the operation for the next three years, three days a week. Kallan Laforge, who heads the group of owners with Victory, says they are lucky to have Ray staying on, as most guys just take the money and run. The small town approach to business is one thing the Beckman’s and Victory have in common, they treat people the way they want to be treated.
Laforge says long range plans were eventually to make the Garnett’s multi-franchise location a Ford-focused dealership, and to possibly construct a new GM location near Victory’s Chrysler operation in Ottawa.
