A Gardner man has been sentenced to more than two months in prison for his role in the January 6, 2021, attack on the U. S. Capitol. Twenty three-year-old Ryan Ashlock, is a member of the violent, white supremacist group known as the Proud Boys. United States District of Columbia Judge Timothy Kelly sentenced Ashlock to 70 days in Federal Prison, followed by a year of supervised release for entering and remaining in a restricted building or ground.
Federal authorities arrested Ashlock a month after the attack and charged him with conspiracy, obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, and several other charges. Ashlock is one of four members of the Kansas City-area Proud Boys group that were also the subject of a civil lawsuit filed last December by the District of Columbia in connection to the January 6th attack.
