Anderson County Hospital in Garnett has a new hospitalist. Doctor Dung Mac has joined the hospital system and will be working at both – Anderson County Hospital and Allen County Regional Hospital. Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in hospital-based care and coordinate all aspects of care for patients in the hospital, working in collaboration with nursing staff, the patient’s primary care provider, and other specialists. Administrator Jeremy Anderson says Mac communicates well and involves the patient in making decisions about their care plan and has been a great addition to the team.
Doctor Mac has close ties to kansas. He grew up in Wichita and is glad to have the opportunity to return to Kansas to be near family and friends. Anderson stresses that local physicians who are on the hospital’s medical staff continue to have the option and may choose to admit and provide inpatient care for their patients.
