As thousands of people hit the roads this Thanksgiving, AAA is asking drivers to ensure their vehicles are prepared. AAA anticipates helping about 400,000 stranded drivers nationwide during the holiday weekend. AAA reminds travelers that a little planning can go a long way to avoid a holiday breakdown.
Check your oil, tire pressure and gas up before hitting the road. Tire pressure is important, especially in colder weather. Make sure your windshield wipers are good and you have filled your washer fluid. Most of all, be careful, keep your eyes on the road and if someone else is on the side of the road, slow down, and mover over. Also, every vehicle should be equipped with a well-stocked emergency kit that includes a mobile phone and car charger, a flashlight with extra batteries and a first-aid kit. It’s also advised people carry a cooler with water, drinks and snacks.
