Friday morning, November 25th, a barn was destroyed by fire in Franklin County. Friday morning, Lori Stafford, of Tonganoxie, reported a pole barn was on fire at 3223 Labette Terrace. The first crews on scenes were actually Franklin County EMS crews who reported that there was black smoke coming from the building and that the outside of the building was heavily scarred by heat. As fire crews arrived they realized that the pole barn was covered in metal and the contents inside were burning. They called for Mutual Aid from the Ottawa Fire Department and Engine One responded to the scene. Numerous fire agencies were on the scene working to put out the blaze.
The barn was owned by 52-year-old Dale Ream, of Ottawa. There was no loss estimate listed on the report as a result of the fire.
