The Franklin County Sheriff’s office is investigating a shooting in the 3200 block of Indiana Road Sunday, December 4th, that they are calling an aggravated assault. In a media release yesterday, the Sheriff’s office says authorities responded to Advent Health Ottawa for a report of a gunshot wound patient. Deputies determined that a 40-year-old male victim from Baldwin received the wound from a disturbance that occurred in 3200 block of Indiana Road. Investigators have completed multiple interviews and have determined that it was an isolated event and there is no threat to the public.
Scanner traffic at the time of the incident indicated that authorities were looking for the driver and vehicle that dropped the shooting victim off at the hospital. The sheriff’s department says that due to the ongoing investigation into the matter, no further information will be released until the investigation is complete.
