The Louisburg Police Department has a new Police Chief and he brings with him a 25 year career in law enforcement. Louisburg resident Josh Weber will lead the department. Weber began his law enforcement career in the Dickinson County, Kansas Sheriff’s Office as a part-time deputy while attending Kansas State University. He continued working for the sheriff’s office full time after receiving his bachelor’s degree from K-State. Weber joined the Kansas Highway Patrol as a State Trooper 25 years ago and has been serving as a Lieutenant with the patrol’s Emergency Operations and Homeland Security Division.
The longtime local resident moved to Louisburg in 1999 after he graduated from the KHP Training Academy. Weber also is a Captain with the Louisburg Fire Department where he has volunteered for 22 years. In his new role, Chief Weber succeeds Tim Bauer, who retired in November after serving as Louisburg’s Police Chief for seven years. He says he looks forward to working with and serving the Louisburg Community.
