A one vehicle accident on I-35 just outside of Ottawa Saturday claimed the life of an Iowa man. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, just before 3:00 Saturday afternoon, a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Robert Rogers, of Muscatine, Iowa was traveling southbound on I-35 at mile marker 182 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle left the roadway to the left and truck a guard rail before coming to rest. Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene, and the only occupant of the car.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reported that I-35 was partially closed while investigators from their department, the Ottawa Police department and the Highway Patrol worked the scene.
