The man accused of shooting another Ottawa man in the leg in an incident February 5th has pled guilty to two charges and has had five other charges dismissed by the prosecutor. Nineteen year-old Cayson Wilson is accused of shooting 36-year-old Zachary Downs three times in the leg at point blank range with a ruger 9 millimeter handgun, in the 500 block of North Mulberry. He was originally charged with attempted murder. That charge was reduced to aggravated battery against Downs and an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge for putting another person in fear of bodily harm. That person identified in court documents as Brandy Yohe. Three charges of aggravated endangerment of a child, distribution of marijuana and theft of property were dismissed.

Wilson faces 38 to 172 months in prison for the battery charge and 11 to 34 months for the assault charge. Sentencing in the case is schedule for February 6th at 11:00 in the morning in Franklin County District Court.
