Governor Laura Kelly has released a review of the past year in Kansas. She says Kansas got ‘back on track’ in every area to attract jobs, strengthen the roads and bridges and fully fund education. The state attracted nearly $7.5 billion of capital investment this year, doubling last year’s amount.
Kansas made progress on 500 transportation projects totaling nearly $2 billion in construction, including resurfacing 1,500 miles of roads and repaired or replace 220 bridges.
Kelly also signed legislation that fully funded K-12 education for the fourth consecutive year and guaranteed this funding though 2024, which included historic investments to early childhood and K-12 education. She also signed 96 bipartisan bills.
