Kansas Governor Laura Kelly is urging Kansans to protect their families by testing their homes for an odorless, invisible gas. She has proclaimed January as Kansas Radon Action Month. Radon is a colorless, odorless, naturally occurring radioactive gas that can emanate from soil and become a health hazard when concentrated inside a home, school, business or other structure. She adds that radon levels in Miami and Lynn Counties are particularly high and urges you to get your home tested testing is very easy. There are test kits available at any County Extension office. Cost is only $7.50. Call your local Extension office today and get a test kit.
