January is National Radon Action Month. Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas. Itis created by the decay of uranium and is present nearly everywhere in the world, particularly here in Kansas. Radon causes 100 times more deaths each year than carbon monoxide. The United States Surgeon General recommends that all homes be tested more than once. You should place the test kit on the lowest level of living area in your home.
Frontier Extension Agent, Chelsey Richmond encourages everyone to have their house tested this month. Test kits are available at any Extension District Office.
