Highway 75 was closed for nearly five hours after a tractor-trailer hauling hay caught fire north of Lyndon. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office says that around 11:15 yesterday morning, January 5, officials closed Highway 75 between 205th and 197th street after a trailer hauling hay bales caught fire. Witnesses say the fire from the trailer may have sparked a grass fire nearby; however, that was not confirmed by officials. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office says the highway reopened just before 4:00 yesterday afternoon. However, there was still smoke in the area.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and is still under investigation by Osage County Authorities. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
