The Kansas Legislature is set to convene this morning at 10:00 at the Statehouse in Topeka. Many issues will face them this year. One of those is Medicaid expansion. Kansas is among the last 11 holdout states to expand coverage. Governor Kelly has long advocated for expansion, submitting various proposals to the legislature, and, says she will never give up trying to get Medicaid expanded in Kansas and will have a fifth proposal to the Legislators early in the session.

New Republican Speaker Dan Hawkins has argued against Medicaid expansion in the past. However, Kelly says she will have conversations with him about the topic.
