The Kansas Corporation Commission is holding a public hearing to give Atmos Energy customers the opportunity to ask questions and comment on the company’s recent application to increase rates. If approved, residential customers with average usage will pay an additional $5.60 per month, an increase of 6.4% percent. The public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, beginning at 6:00 in the evening. The meeting will be held virtually over Zoom to make it convenient for Atmos customers in all Kansas service areas to participate. Atmos supplies natural gas service to more than three million customers in eight states including 139,000 Kansas customers.
To join the meeting as a participant, with the ability to make a public comment or ask a question, customers should register by noon tomorrow on the “Your Opinion Matters” page of the commission’s website. It will be available for later viewing on you tube.
