With West Franklin Schools Superintendent Jerry Turner announcing his retirement at the end of the year, the West Franklin School District is in the process of interviewing and hiring a new Superintendent. Each candidate has been received with a Meet and Greet Reception. Last week, Rex Boley from the Rock Hills District was interviewed. This week, on Tuesday, it was Tami Knedler from Dodge City, and last night, Jason Cline from South Brown County was welcomed to town. The Meet and Greet Receptions have been held each afternoon at the West Franklin High School Commons, in Pomona.

The West Franklin District is only releasing the names of the candidates the day of their interview and reception. However, today’s interview and reception have been cancelled. No word on why. A final interview and reception is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. The USD 287 Board hopes to have a new superintendent named before Spring Break.
