A Pomona man who led Osage County law enforcement on a chase through two counties is in jail today facing numerous charges. Wednesday night, January 18, just after 11:30, an Osage County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop at 5th and Pine in Quenemo for a traffic violation. During the stop, the vehicle fled. A pursuit was initiated and ended in Franklin County at a residence in Pomona. The driver of the vehicle, 62-year-old James Thomas, of Pomona, was taken into custody by Osage and Franklin County deputies and transported to the Osage County Jail on suspicion of fleeing and eluding law enforcement and engaging in reckless driving, possession of methamphetamine, aggravated assault on a law officer with a deadly weapon, transporting an open container and expired registration.
Osage County Sheriff, Chris Wells, says the Osage deputies were assisted by Franklin County Deputies and the Kansas Highway Patrol.
