An accident in rural Franklin County early yesterday morning, January 28th, has left one person dead. Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 2800 block of Vermont Road for a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, deputies found a Toyota T100 pickup in the ditch, on the east side of the road, fully engulfed in flames. The Cutler Township Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the fire.
Based on the evidence at the scene, deputies determined the vehicle was traveling southbound on Vermont Road and for an unknown reason, the vehicle drove off the road to the east, overturned and caught fire. The driver of the vehicle died in the crash and ensuing fire. There were no other occupants. The name of the decease will not be released until the investigation has been completed.
