An Ottawa man has been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury last week for the armed robbery of a Mound City Bank. Forty one year-old Marvin McWhorter, of Ottawa was charged in a two-count indictment returned by a Federal Grand Jury in Kansas City, Missouri. McWhorter is charged with one count of bank robbery and one count of using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

The indictment alleges that McWhorter, brandishing a firearm, stole $4,445 from Citizens Bank & Trust, in Mound City, on December 21st, of last year. Federal officials say the charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a Federal Trial Jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
