A traffic stop in Paola on Sunday , January 29th, led to an arrest after officers found nearly 60 grams of methamphetamine and 10 grams of marijuana. According to a news release from the Paola Police Department, the traffic stop took place at about 7:00 Sunday evening on South Silver Street, when a Paola Police Officer stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. During the investigation, it was discovered that the driver, 48-year-old Scott Schlesener, of Cleveland, Missouri was driving while suspended and had no registration for his vehicle. Schlesener was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Police say a large sum of cash, as well as items related to the distribution of narcotics were also located.

He was booked into the Miami County Jail on charges of distributing or possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and other traffic charges.
