If you are a farmer, you know that one of the serious issues facing the small or underserved farmer is the lack of access to credit, and without that, it’s very difficult for any ferment to make it. The Administrator of USDA’s Farm Service Agency, Zach Ducheneaux told the Senate AG Committee that most of the time USDA farm loans are a last resort, and he would like to see that change:
He also offered his assistance to lawmakers on the issue as they shape the next Farm Bill that has been crucial, not only Nationally, but also possibly an issue of National Security.
